Getting photos from 2013 Agribition

If you attended the 2013 Canadian Western Agribition, please contact me morganbeaudryphotography + at-symbol + gmail DOT com.

If I shot your event, I can make images available to you. I am NOT loading all images to the site (because I think the site would explode – I shot a LOT of images) but I will work with you to find your images. I’ll likely create an event contact sheet that you can browse and choose from.

Note: Images are for personal non-commercial use only and may not be distributed, sold or used for marketing without my expressed permission.

Wild rides, wee ropers, scholarship winners and witty costumes

Today is the 6th and final day of Agribition and as you can see it’s packed side to side and top to bottom with entertaining events, particulary for children.

Here are the final Agribition galleries.

If I live to be 100 I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of watching THIS:

Or THIS (look at that little guy. How adorable is that!!)

They show sheep showing and the event everyone loves – the costume class . In case you’re wondering, the man and his family are a dragon slayer (dad), the trusty mount (sheep) rescuing the princess (in pink) from the terrifying dragon (the 10 month old). In another costume class, the crocodile hunter and her ferocious companion narrowly beat out the pirate sheep for first prize.

Megan Turton of Carnduff SK was honoured with the Agribition scholarship today. She appears in the gallery with others who are receiving certificates from sales.

Livestock judging

In this gallery, I’ve got sheep and cows being shown.

Judging the shorthorns were Vernon and Denise Lafrentz of Beinfait. Judging the herefords – and for those who can’t tell the different, the hereford handlers are wearing red vests – is a guy whose name I forgot to ask. I’m really sorry about that.

The sheep are also being show today, on Day 5 of Agribition.

Close encounters of the Agribition kind!

New to the Family Ag Pavillion this year is a display by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. A center of excellent and the premier veterinary school in Western Canada, the college is training center for vets and also offers care to all creatures, great and small.

The doctors and techs as this school are among the world’s finest, hence the shout-out. I love you guys!

In this gallery, you’ll see :

Dr. Gregg Adams and his wife (and assistant) Lori Adams introducing children to the world of veterinary medicine – including a hands-on pretend ‘surgery’!

Artist in Residence Carol Morin and the ever-growing card buffalo she and the visitors are building

A square dance demonstration

And a epic throw down between men’s hoop dancers. I think the little guy in the sparkles nailed it!

Prospect show

The prospect shows are a big draw at Agrbition, and the prospect horse previous for 2 and 3 year old horses drew a pretty great crowd.

And look at what they can do in the arena, it’s no small wonder why. These young horses are really going to grow into stunning talents as they mature.
